DUKE'S BIO

_

MUSICIAN, COMPOSER and AUTHOR, Duke London was born in Los Angeles, California. He manifested remarkable musical ability at a very young age with several instruments including piano. Still very young, he was invited to write songs for a female artist and was featured with her on the album released by Casablanca and Motown Records.

Later, he composed the song entitled I’m A Child. When this song and three others made their way to the Walt Disney Company, Duke was invited to write songs for several developing Disney projects. This led to his music being recorded by Walt Disney Records.

Many of the tunes written later became the material for “8 Steps to Student Success!” his Educational Musical Presentation benefiting thousands of children in schools throughout California.

Duke wrote the award-winning closing theme "Take Me Home" for the Animal Adoption broadcast: “The Pet Place TV Show”. The opening theme: "Even Animals Smile" he also wrote and sang for the show. Later, appointed VP of this television production, he was credited with helping the show to save the lives of thousands of animals over a period of many years throughout the life of the show. Primarily for this show's viewers he wrote and produced the cd: “We’re A Family—Songs For Animals and You”.   One of the songs,“The Moanin Dove” was nominated for the esteemed Genesee Award.

Duke's voice and music have been heard on award-winning floats of the Tournament of Roses Parades.

Having performed in many venues with a number of TV and Radio appearances, he also created the CD: “DUKE and the Winter ANIMALS”.  He performs in live shows which also prominently feature his partner "Jimbo" (the Koala), who sings along with him!

Other animal characters and the values incorporated in the songs offer much to each listener. The result is an always-delighted audience regardless of the ages (4 to 90) of the “kids” present in it.

As AUTHOR, his latest project is the book series based on and named after the cd "DUKE and the Winter ANIMALS".  It's first volume: "Britly,The Arctic Fox" will be available very soon in Audio version.
